Longest Bridges on Earth!


This is a list of longest bridges in the world. Some of theses are old but most of them are quite new. It is interesting to note that most of the longest bridges in world are present in China. These are the true examples of excellent engineering by mankind. Take a look at top 10 longest bridges from around the world.

10. RunYang Bridge

35,660 m (116,990 ft)


Rung Yang Bridge is situated in China. It was constructed in 2005. This is the tenth longest bridge of the world. It is 35,660m long.

9. Hangzhou Bay Bridge

Hangzhou Bridge of China is one of the most beautiful bridges of the world. Its length is 35.6 km. The bridge connect the city of Jiaxing to the Ningboone of the important port of china. At the center special restaurants and other facilities for relaxing are placed on the isle.

8. Yangcun Bridge, Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway

This is one of the oldest Bridges which was constructed in 1956. Its length is 38.4km. This is one of the longest bridges in the North America according to the Guinness World Record.

This is the third longest bridge of the world constructed in China. This is the high speed railway bridge. It is 79,732m long. It is completed in 2010 and opened in 2011.

2. Tianjin Grand Bridge, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway

This is the second longest bridge of the world as mentioned in the Guinness book of world record. It is also located in people republic of China. This is as well a high speed Railway bridge. It is completed in 2010 and opened in 2011. Its total length is 113,700m.

1. Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge

164,800 m (540,700 ft)


This is the longest bridge in the world, located in Beijing, China. Its length is 164,800m. It was completed in 2010 and opened for use in 2011. About 10,000 workers took part in the construction of this bridge, working for four years and cost of this bridge is about $8.5 billion. It also currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest bridge in the world in any category as of June 2011. Lets see which other bridge is going to take its place in the future.
